Overview
The 2013 Range Rover is based on an aluminum platform, which is nothing more than a modernized “cart” of the Jaguar XJ sedan. The body of the SUV also went completely aluminum. It is 39% lighter than the previous generation model. In general, the fourth-generation Range Rover dropped an average of 420 kg, but this figure depends on the market and vehicle equipment.
Already large and roomy, the Range Rover has become even longer. The engineers of the British company have lengthened the wheelbase of the SUV, thanks to which, in particular, the rear passenger’s legroom has become 118 mm more. In addition, the car received an improved air suspension designed to improve comfort and handling, as well as a modified Terrain Response system, replenished with a fully automatic mode of operation.
