Overview
Land Rover LR3 is a five-seater all-wheel drive SUV that was the result of cooperation between Land Rover and Ford. The basis is the T5 Range Rover platform. It was possible to improve the rigidity of the body and the controllability of the car thanks to the Body-Frame technology. The car was created for use around the city and for conquering off-road.
Interior design
In 2008, the model received changes in the interior and is presented in two versions of complete sets. The salon is spacious and ergonomic. The driver’s seat is placed quite high, which provides a better view. The back rows of seats are placed above the previous ones. The cabin is spacious. Even in the back row, there is enough space for two adult passengers.
The lower part of the luggage compartment door folds down like a side, and the upper segment rises. The interior of the car corresponds to the traditional Land Rover interior. Restraint and the absence of luxurious materials prevail. Low-quality plastic is used to equip the console and other elements.
The center console has black buttons and switches. The front row of seats has an electric drive for changing positions, 8 positions are available. For the basic model, dual-zone climate control and a telescopic steering wheel are provided. The car received an audio system with 9 speakers, USB connectors, Bluetooth, and a CD changer.
Additionally, options for voice control of the onboard computer, navigation system, and front parking sensors are available.
Specifications
Car models are equipped with V-shaped 8-cylinder power engines with a working volume of 4.4 liters. The motor is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The turbodiesel engine, which is intended for the European consumer, is combined with both an automatic transmission and a “mechanics”. With such an engine under the hood, the car reached a power of 300 horsepower. It is possible to reach 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.
The rotary knob allows you to choose the optimal settings according to the driving mode – basic, snow, gravel, stone, and others. The car is equipped with an independent suspension.
Security systems
The Land Rover LR3 features ABS, disc brakes, stability control and rollover mitigation technology, parking sensors, and front and side airbags. Adaptive high beams are available on the improved version. The headlights are adjustable up and down.
