Overview
After the restyling, the 2001 Land Rover Discovery received many changes. The front bumper became more voluminous, which added dynamics to the exterior. The manufacturer improved the main optics and provided two lens headlights. The radiator grille is covered by three horizontal overlays. The roof visually stands out due to its stepped construction. Additionally, a hatch is provided.
The restyled model is equipped with both diesel and gasoline engines. The 5-cylinder “turbodiesel” has a working volume of 2.5 liters and a power of 139 horsepower. A gasoline V-shaped 8-cylinder power unit with a working volume of 4.6 liters has a power rating of 220 hp. The engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Security systems
After the restyling, the car received the following options to improve the level of safety: ABS, EBD, electronic traction control, and traction control system during descent. The 2002 Land Rover Discovery has two front-row airbags.
The vehicle is protected from unwanted intrusion by an engine immobilizer. The device blocks the ignition if the original key is missing.
