Overview
If we talk about the other side of the SUV, then this is a frame chassis with dependent springs. 1999 Land Rover Discovery has not only a high level of reliability but also excellent cross-country ability on different types of roads. It pleases with a relatively high ground clearance – 25.3 centimeters. In expensive trim levels, an air suspension is provided, which allows you to change the height of the car in the range of 40 millimeters.
Engines
Three types of engines were installed on the 1999 Land Rover Discovery:
1. Gasoline 4.0 liters for 185 horsepower. Reliable, powerful, but very voracious – with a mixed type of driving, it consumes up to 17 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
2. Gasoline 4.6 liters for 220 horsepower. Such variants are less common as the engine was only offered in the American market.
3. Diesel 2.5 liters for 138 horsepower. Less reliable and less powerful, but at the same time, its economy pleases – the consumption per 100 km of track is less than 10 liters of fuel.
All types of units were completed with two types of gearboxes: a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual. The drive is exceptionally complete.
